Helping out.

The boys from the Residential Unit did a great job of helping carting concrete blocks and wooden planks to put in a storage room this week. As you can see by their faces, they just love to help out.

Unfortunately, on Wednesday, one of Josh’s feet had slipped up in the cast and damaged his skin. We couldn’t put another cast on immediately. We put the affected foot in a tiny AFO’s which we had just received in a donation the week before. This allowed his skin to heal and we reapplied another cast on the Friday. The black lines you can see on his toes, are drawn in marking pen, so the Carers can see immediately if his foot has slipped at all.

Cris had her next casts applied on Wednesday. The other two children who are normally cast each week, Janie & Sophie are in the final waiting stage with their last casts, before they come off and they get their braces.

Monday's Happenings

This morning Tyler left to join his forever family, and Sydney went to her foster family. We’re sad to see the children move on, but it’s great to know that they don’t need us anymore.

Joey and Josh also had their next casts applied today, so there was plenty of action in the House.

Friday

Our youngest baby had her tenotomy on Friday. Her foot is responding really well, and she always sleeps through most of the casting process.
Mia also left us on Friday to go into foster care. She is so healthy now, after successful surgery which the Tomorrow Plan funded.

Wednesday Casting

Janie had her 4th and final cast applied today. Her foot has responded very well and she will soon be going into a brace.
Cris had her 2nd cast applied today. She was not happy about it at all, although she soon settled down when it was all over.

Boys Day

Joey & Josh had their 3rd & 4th casts applied today. They went well and it wasn't long before they were home again waiting for the casts to dry.

English Class

Today the kids in the CP Residential Unit who are learning English, had some fun making swimming goggles out of pipe cleaners, after learning about water and swimming.
